I am Paula Payne, my work explores our woodland environment. I produce detailed lino prints and unusual marquetry designs. Originally a painter, I have become fascinated with wood veneers and reviving the skill of marquetry using an expressive style that celebrates the flaws and unique qualities of these materials.

I want to bring the drama and the beauty of the landscape into your home. I like to experiment with different processes and this has led to my work in marquetry. Combing this skill with print making or pure marquetry gives me the opportunity to make work that is unusual and timeless.
